Accessible Site templates

Website Templates

All new websites start with a template containing the branding, page structure and navigational scheme. This template forms the basis of every page of the site.

A template can be purchased 'off the shelf', designed and coded in-house or sub-contracted to a design company.

Because there is a general lack of knowledge and experience of good practice in web design each of these options often results in templates that are both inaccessible and unusable - issues that will be reproduced on every page of your site.

We recognise that designing a website that is attractive, functional and usable whilst still being accessible is not easy. So we have worked hard to produce a range of designs that meet all these requirements - including accessibility to the highest level (compliant to the W3C's AAA standard ).

Each template includes:

An HTML page with menu(s) and sample graphics and content
The several associated stylesheets - coded to ensure the site will look and perform well under a wide range of browsers, user preferred colour and font size combinations and access technologies.
A user guide - making it simple to fine-tune the templates to match your brief
Our Web Accessibility Key Info Pack - including a CD-ROM resource and two introductory booklets

Each template costs £600 - with discounts available for charities, SMEs and individuals. This price represents a fraction of what it would normally cost in man-hours to create a template - but with accessibility to the highest level guaranteed.

The source code of each template is available for evaluation on request.

There is no cost related to the size of site the template will be used for, but we ask for half the initial cost each time the template is used again as the basis for another site.

Rebranding Our Templates

Because each template comes with a user guide it should be quite straightforward for you to alter the colours, fonts and menu items to meet your template design brief.

If, however, you'd like us to brand the template for you please ask us for details.

Content Management System

If you need a simple content management system (CMS) to create, update and manage the content of your new website - again please ask us for details.
